It’s that time of year again – when everyone braves the winter nights to take in the greatest light show on earth – Vivid!
To mark the extension of the light walk down to Walsh Bay, each year we partner up with Walsh Bay Arts and Commerce – the local chamber of commerce and host a special celebration.
As Brigid, owner of Simmer on the Bay and Chair of Walsh Bay Arts and Commerce, was instrumental in bringing Vivid down to Walsh Bay three years ago there’s a lot to celebrate! Locals and friends gather together to have a party and enjoy a special (behind the scenes) tour from Festival Director and Curator –Light, Anthony Bastic.
This year guests were kept warm with delicious mulled wine and enjoyed a grazing table filled with gourmet morsels, including lamb sliders and a selection of roast meats and cheese. It was a great opportunity for everyone to catch up on future developments in the area as there is always something exciting afoot in this part of Sydney.
After the abundant hospitality of Simmer on the Bay all went on a tour of the five installations in Walsh Bay this year, including the amazing Harbour Wave that is just a few steps away from our door! Anthony provided insight into why each piece was chosen for Walsh Bay and details on the artists behind the impressive work.
All had a wonderful night and we’ll do it all again next year!
